Dr. Kamal Aldien Alawad is a Research Meteorologist in Sudan Meteorological Authority. He earned a Masters in Physical Oceanography from Bergen University (Norway), after getting his undergraduate degree in Meteorology from Juba University (Sudan) and he earned a PhD in Marine Physics in 2019 from King Abdulaziz University-Saudi Arabia.
His areas of interest include air-sea interaction that include sea level, natural and anthropogenic oceanic and atmospheric climate change, extreme weather and climate events (heatwave, floods, and droughts). A focus of my research is to identify driving mechanisms for past and future climate variability and change, with regional focus in Greater Horn of Africa.
