Julian Joseph is a researcher in the Water Security Research Group of IIASA in Laxenburg, Austria. His research interests are at the intersection of international development, water and agriculture. He has experience in applying economic models to water, agriculture and international trade and investment-related issues. Currently, he is working on an optimization model for sustainable intensification of agricultural production under water and resource constraints. His previous experience includes the evaluation of development cooperation projects in Malawi and several other countries. He studied economics in Mannheim, Istanbul and Vienna and is about to complete his PhD at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
