Riley Hales is a hydraulics and hydrology researcher emphasizing in large scale numerical models and computational tools. He is an alumnus of Brigham Young University where he received a doctoral degree in Civil Engineering. Dr Hales is best known for his role building the GEOGloWS global hydrologic model which provides forecast and retrospective simulated river discharge at 1 million river reaches worldwide and averages more than 16 thousand requests for data downloads each day. He is currently the lead modeler developing the next generation GEOGloWS model which will expand coverage to 7 million river reaches with higher spatial resolution.
