Dr. Abdalla Shigidi is an Associate Professor of civil engineering at Sudan University of Science and Technology. He received his basic civil engineering degree from the University of Khartoum – Sudan and his M.S. and PhD. degrees from Colorado State
University in the United States of America. He has about twenty‐five years of experience in conducting water resources investigations and studies, including hydrological analysis, hydrogeological assessment, as well as water resources planning. His work experience includes projects in a number of African countries and the middle east involving six of the Nile Basin countries with a number of organizations such as the NBI, ENTRO, World Bank, UNESCO, IFAD, as well as national agencies and consulting firms.
Dr. Shigidi has a special interest in the area of sustainable development of groundwater resources in general and within the Nile Basin countries in particular.
