I am currently employed (and since 2011) as a senior hydrologist in Statkraft Energy Ltd. Statkraft is Europe’s largest generator of renewable energy and is the leading state-owned power company in Norway
www.statkraft.com. I have a research background in forestry, hydrology, climate change, environment and energy. I have solid education and work experience from Norway, The Islamic Republic of Iran, United Kingdom and Sudan. I am tri-lingual and communicate well both in writing and verbally in Arabic, English and Norwegian. I have a BSc. in Forestry from the University of Khartoum, an MSc. In monitoring, modelling and management of environmental change from King’s College London, University of London and a PhD in hydrology from the university of Oslo, Norway. My previous work experience spans from working as an Arabic – English language translator and interpreter at the British Embassy in Khartoum, Sudan, to working at the department of Geography, University of Bergen in Norway been responsible for the remote sensing and GIS lab, to working in the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in Teheran, Iran. I enjoy dynamic and challenging professional environments. I consider myself a global citizen considering the number of countries that I lived and worked in. I would like to put my accumulated experience in life and work for contributing together with others in addressing and facing new and challenging areas making the necessary changes that make this world a better place.
