Dr. Benjamin Nyilitya is a Research Hydrologist with great interests in surface/ groundwater management and development studies, water quality management, isotope hydrology applications, natural resources management, nutrient cycling and biogeochemical processes.
He currently works with the Ministry of Water, Sanitation & Irrigation in Kenya as a water quality specialist. During his 15 years of work in the water sector, Dr. Nyilitya has good research experience studying the Lake Victoria and the Nile basin water resources on issues related to tracking pollutant sources, nutrient cycling, surface-groundwater interrelationships, and water balance. He has a PhD in Bioscience engineering (Environmental Science & Technology) from Ghent University – Belgium, MSc & BSc (Chemistry) from University of Nairobi – Kenya. He has supervised PhD and MSc. thesis students through research collaborations with the University of Nairobi and Ghent University – Belgium.
