Beginning at the Southern Waterfront, we will ride through the park, which is a soothing oasis in the midst of the bustling city. We will stop at the beautiful Nereid Fountain by Lola Mora and continue into the Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve. The preserve is an extension of 900 acres reclaimed from the river, which has prolific flora and fauna. This ecological reserve is an unusual and unexpected consequence of highway construction throughout Buenos Aires during the mid-20th century.
As we continue, we will ride close to the vast marshes covered with water lilies and lush forests with the backdrop of the city's skyline. We will be on the lookout for Black-necked Swans, Golden-breasted Woodpeckers, and the Great Pampa Finch, as well as nutrias and tortoises.
Our ride will move on through Puerto Madero, pausing to view and learn about interesting monuments such as Taxi Driver & Tango Monument and the Santiago Calatrava's Woman's Bridge. Additionally, we will see the Fragata Sarmiento and Queen of Holland Square.
