SWS North Central Chapter is committed to promoting sound wetland science, conservation, and management. We represent 10 states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Chapter members have worked to have several wetlands designated as Ramsar Wetlands of International Importance. These include Horicon Marsh, the Olentangy River Wetlands Research Park and the Upper Mississippi River Floodplain Wetlands. Only 37 sites in the United States carry this designation.
