HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation is an international network of independent affiliate member organizations and works in the fields of development cooperation and emergency response. Building upon six decades of development experience HELVETAS is today active in over 30 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America with 1600 collaborators. In Africa, HELVETAS is implementing projects in Ethiopia, Tanzania, Mozambique, Madagascar and Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger. Further projects such as HELVETAS’ engagement in postharvest management have a regional focus (Sub-Saharan Africa). In Switzerland, Helvetas is structured as an association of 100’000 members and donors with head offices in Zurich and Berne. HELVETAS works in five main thematic fields: 1. Sustainable agriculture, food systems and market development, including a focus on postharvest management; 2. Environment and climate change, with a focus on disaster risk management and resilience building; 3. Water and infrastructure, including drinking water, sanitation and hygiene; 4. Skills development and education, including vocational training and small business development; 5. Governance and peace, and policy dialogue with government
