The one-day conference, “Let’s Move the Needle on Health Literacy in Texas,” aims to introduce Health Literacy Texas, discuss health literacy best practices and lessons learned, and connect professionals across Texas working on health literacy. We will have speakers from across the state discussing topics ranging from rural telemedicine to the role of community health workers and a legislative update. Continuing education is available for this conference.

Ashley Rodriguez is an experiential Community Health Worker (CHW) & CHW Instructor with over 12 years’ experience in community & public health. Ashley is currently the Community Health Worker System Manager at Baylor Scott & White Health System.
Rev. Anderson is the Executive Director of Cactus Nazarene Ministry Center and The Well Health Center. He has been a missionary, pastor, communications coordinator. He has been serving in Cactus for the past two years.
Dr. Erin Carlson is Associate Clinical Professor and founding Director of Graduate Public Health Programs at University of Texas at Arlington. Dr. Carlson's work focuses academic public health and community-based disease prevention locally and globally.
