Get Started Omaha presented by Husch Blackwell highlighted 30 startups during a Startup Showcase (see companies below). These startups represent five industry tracks that include healthcare and education; manufacturing, transportation and logistics; food and agriculture; energy, natural resources and real estate; and technology and financial services.
Business executives and community members selected a winner from each industry track and event attendees selected a People’s Choice Award winner, to include:
- AuditMiner which allows 401k auditors to download standardized audit packages and pre-populated testing tempaltes for use during their audit fieldwork, no matter where the retirement plan assets are located.
- Diversity Telehealth, a platform that solves the real problem of no-shows for both patients and physicians.
- EventVest, a platform for finding and promoting local events.
- Leash Pet Transportation, a pet-only ride-share service that connects pet owners, pet care businesses and trusted drivers via a web platform, creating greater convenience for pet owners.
- Sentinel Fertigation, an agricultural technology company that is leveraging multispectral imagery to anticiatpe crop nitrogen needs and provie proactive fertigation recommendations to farmers and their trusted advisors.
- Swishboom, a mobile app that allows parents to book babysitters using trusted networks.
These six startups then pitched for a grand prize of $25,000, awarded live during the event based on scores from a panel of venture capital judges.
