December 7, 2020 -Sprinkler System Installation Requirements (NFPA 13)
PURPOSE- There are hundreds of types of sprinklers in use today. Determining where to locate them can be a complex task. They need to be spaced properly and installed in specific locations to ensure coverage of the protected area and located far enough away from obstructions to ensure that the spray pattern can adequately develop and control or suppress a fire. The rules that govern this complex matrix of decisions are found in Chapter 8 of NFPA 13 on Installation Requirements. This fast paced and interactive seminar will guide the participant through series of decisions and requirements that lead to compliance with NFPA 13 and ensure the system will operate properly when needed.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
December 8, 2020 Sprinkler System Hydraulics & Acceptance Testing
PURPOSE- This seminar will cover the acceptance test requirements for new fire sprinkler systems, underground fire mains, and fire pumps. It will also address the situations where equipment in existing systems is repaired or replaced. Next, the program will cover basic hydraulics. The program will conclude with a look at the standardized forms that NFPA 13 uses for computer generated hydraulic calculations and how to review these forms for the important information necessary for plan review.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES-
PURPOSE- This one-day seminar provides attendees with vital
information on how to conduct field inspections & final inspections for
fire sprinkler & standpipe systems. Fire sprinkler systems & standpipe
systems are installed in stages and inspections are typically required at
various stages before proceeding to the next stage. Codes typically require
periodic on-site inspections as construction progresses to ensure installations
are being performed according to approved construction documents. This work
typically requires inspection & are allowed to be covered, and/or before
the system is commissioned. This course is designed to familiarize the attendee
with the visual & physical inspection requirements of typical codes and
standards.
