Foundations for Mindfulness for Spanish Language Speakers- June 25th-28th
This course is open to Spanish Language Speakers with little or no knowledge and skill in mindfulness practice are encouraged to enroll. The course is taught in Spanish.

This course is open to all MMSD Employees who are Spanish Language speakers, both instructional and non-instructional staff, including leaders/administrators. Those with little or no knowledge and skill in mindfulness practice are encouraged to enroll. The course is taught in Spanish.

This course will give participants knowledge and skills in the practice of mindful awareness. Time will be devoted to learning how to care for yourself and others through the many facets of mindfulness practice (drawing from the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction curriculum) and its direct implication and impact in living a more sane life. Mindfulness is based on an understanding that life is mixed, having magnificent moments, and moments of challenge and disappointment. What is important is the way in which we meet the moments of our lives, with as much as ease as possible. No prior mindfulness experience is required. Participants will also learn about mindfulness supports and resources for staff and students in MMSD.

DATES: Tuesday, June 25, 9am-12pm Wednesday, June 26, 9am-12pm Friday, June 28, 10 AM to 2 PM

  • 1.0 Academic Credits from Edgewood College at $195/credit
  • ***SEAs may request extended employment via their personal PD plan in consultation with their principal if approved in advance of the Course
