DESIGN & HEALTH - VIRTUAL WORLD CONGRESS
DESIGN & HEALTH - VIRTUAL WORLD CONGRESS
EXPLORATION OF THE GLOBAL APPLICATION OF SALUTOGENIC PERSPECTIVES ON EUROPEAN HEALTHCARE DESIGN.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - WC2020:

After close consultation with our organising partners in Belgium, it is with deep disappointment that we face no alternative than to postpone the 13th World Congress 2020 for Design and Health in Ghent, Belgium to a Virtual Congress in April , 2021.

Due to the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the rapid spread across many countries, we believe this decision is in the best interest of everyone’s health and safety. We do not want to endanger the health of our attendees and their families. We also want to avoid potential lengthy quarantine periods for attendees who may be exposed to the threat of COVID-19 during their travels. Uncertainty regarding the global impact of COVID-19 remains, resulting in government departments and other organisations already enacting travel restrictions.

We apologise for the inconvenience that this decision will cause for those who have committed to participating in WC2020.  We propose to maintain the current structure of the program, speakers and content – pending availability.

A physical Congress will be held in Ghent, Belgium in April 2022.

A virtual Awards ceremony for the Academy Design Awards will take on the 17th of  September 2020.

The WC2020 Organising Committee have secured April 2021 as the new Congress date. We hope to be able to count on your ongoing enthusiasm and trust that we will still see you at WC2020/21 next year.

Our Virtual Congress will take place over the month of April 2021 with 2 daily sessions on the following dates:

Wednesday the 7th of April

Wednesday the 14th April

Wednesday the 21st April

Wednesday the 28th April

The times of these sessions will be as follows:

09:00 – 12:00 UTC time and 19:00 to 22:00 UTC

PLEASE NOTE: The Agenda for the Virtual Congress is currently being updated to work around the new schedule.

The International Academy for Design and Health (IADH) organising committee invite you to attend the 13th Design & Health World Congress & Exhibition in partnership with the Belgian government, and world-renowned academic institutions and healthcare industries.

Congress Themes

Our congress theme is based on the philosophy that ‘less is more’ – that being surrounded by the basics just for the sake of functionality is not only more than enough, but that if we apply this to design in health, it could also result in better health outcomes & wellness.
