You are cordially invited to attend the second in a series of Community of Practice in Public Financial Management events, 09:00-10:30 AM EDT Tuesday, November 24, 2020, via Zoom.
The COVID-19 pandemic has created global challenges this year
for healthcare, the economy and governments beyond any we have ever faced. The
International Consortium on Governmental Financial Management (ICGFM) has
organized two meetings this fall to create a Community of Practice in PFM where
PFM professionals, students and consultants can discuss and share insights in
real time on what is working, and what is not, in the efforts to control the
pandemic and restore battered economies.
This second Community of Practice in the series will focus on ways to improve the processes countries use to design the most effective stimulus programs and determine the funding levels that will work best to restart struggling economies. Many countries, including the US and much of Europe, are finding themselves moving backward in the process—unable to relaunch their economies when the pandemic is surging again, and energies and funds are going mainly to healthcare.
Participation is free, but you must register on the ICGFM website, www.icgfm.org, and identify your language preference. The regional breakout rooms [organized by language] will allow participants to rapidly share ideas and work together on policies and measures for mitigation and recovery. We are partnering with the ICGFM Ambassadors to moderate the regional breakout rooms in English, French and Spanish.
You will need a computer or tablet connected to the internet. If you have a Zoom account, please be sure to update to the newest version. If you do not have a Zoom account, you should download the free Zoom app and make sure it is updated.
Be sure to download the discussion material prior to the meeting.
