Irkutsk National
Research Technical University invites foreign students to participate in the International Summer School on sustainable development and climate change,
environmental protection, rational use of water resources.
The participation in the International Summer School of INRTU provides an opportunity for the students to gain knowledge in the field of ecology and related sciences, to enjoy Siberian nature, to learn about Russian traditions, to acquire Russian language skills.

Eligibility
The applicants for Sustainable
Development and Climate Change International Summer School should fulfill the following requirements:
Must be undergraduate students, currently attending college/university, have good academic performance, be motivated to care for nature, have communication skills, positive thinking and desire to contribute by caring for the nature, be in good health, have COVID vaccination certificate or QR code, fluorography certificate, PCR negative test certificate before arriving.
The
program is conducted in English that is why the students should have good
command of the English language (not lower than B1).
CERTIFICATE
A
certificate of participation with 2 ECTS will be issued at the end of the
summer school.
FEES
The total fee is 120.000 rubles. This charge includes tuition costs, support and assistance, transportation from and to the airport, accommodation (double and triple rooms at INRTU dormitory) during the period of the summer school in Irkutsk and 2-3-4 -bed rooms on Olkhon Island, cultural program (including transportation and tickets in Irkutsk) and meals (breakfast + lunch on the days when you study at INRTU, breakfast on Olkhon Island).
Each participant must meet the cost of travel to and from Irkutsk. Pay extra for:
- medical insurance, visa fee, dinners in Irkutsk and Olkhon, group workshops, additional workshops, personal expenses, lunch and excursions on Olkhon island.

CURRICULUM
The academic
program of the School consists of a block of thematic lectures, discussions and
a practical course of the Russian language. At the thematic lectures,
participants will consider the issue of sustainable development and climate
change from a historical, geographical, geological, environmental, cultural,
socio-economic point of view. A number of lectures / practical work will be
devoted to Lake Baikal, its origin, ecosystems, climate. The program aims also to take care of nature of the Baikal region and to
make a personal contribution by caring for nature and preserving it.The Russian language course will include
36 academic hours.
The total number of contact hours is 72, classes are held on weekdays for 4-6 academic hours per day. The Summer School will be represented by expert lecturers from Irkutsk, Russian and foreign universities.
Study type: on campus, face-to-face
NOTE: Due to the situation concerning Covid-19, classes schedule, lecturers and visiting sights can be changed.
Summer School will be held if the amount of participants is at least 30 people
LEISURE ACTIVITIES
Academic classes are accompanied by the diverse extracurricular activities. The School participants are invited to take part in guided tours, to visit museums, theatres, churches, galleries, planetarium and other well-known and interesting places of Irkutsk. The highlight of the cultural program is a 4-day trip to Lake Baikal.
