BigFix Custom Content Development Course
April 15 - 16, 2020  ·  1 One Williams Center Tulsa

You are familiar with many solutions that exist as part of the BigFix platform, now come join us for a complimentary hands-on Relevance Training course to learn how to make BigFix work the way YOU want it to.

Coffee/juice and lunch will be provided all days of this class.

During this course you will learn how to use the Relevance language to query information about your endpoints.  You will gain an understanding of available properties from Agent Inspectors, how to filter data, and how to format results.  Ultimately you will learn to use Relevance and Actionscript to create your own Fixlets, Tasks, and Analyses.

We will also hold additional sessions during lunch to cover features such as BigFix Query, the REST API, and advanced Web Reports.

FAQs

Is this an introductory course appropriate for new BigFix administrators?
While we would never discourage anyone from furthering their knowledge of BigFix, the content development course is a deep dive into the low level internals of what makes BigFix work.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Questions? Please contact Mark Leaphart <james.leaphart@hcl.com>

Is this class available online or will it be streamed?
No, this is an instructor led course that will be held at UC Davis, CA.

Is this training free?
Yes. HCL will supply course materials along with a virtual lab environment.  We will also be providing coffee/juice and lunch for the event on all days.  We will not cover transportation or lodging for this event.

Will HCL provide laptops for this class?

No, HCL will NOT be providing laptops.  This is a Bring Your Own Device event.  We will provide a virtual lab environment for you to use.  You WILL need any or all of the following:

  • Ability to run RDP on your laptop.
  • Ability to install BigFix tools such as the Fixlet Debugger, Session Relevance Tester, and/or BigFix Console Application.
  • Ability to access standard BigFix ports: 52311, 443, 80

Is this training sponsored and delivered by HCL?
Yes.  This session is solely sponsored and delivered by HCL.

Do I have to attend all of the days?
We would strongly encourage attendees to make every attempt to attend the entire course.  This is a hands on, lab heavy course. Each lab builds on the previous lab's work.

Will there be WiFi available?
Guest WiFi may be available but we cannot make any promises.
