The National Center for Community Schools at Children’s Aid presents the Community Schools Fundamentals Conference, a professional learning opportunity designed specifically for those new or relatively new to community schools. At the Fundamentals Conference, we'll share our lessons learned from over 25 years of implementation in New York City and nationwide capacity building. In addition to the option of attending a study visit to a Children’s Aid community school, participants will learn about the foundations and the “nuts and bolts” of the strategy,

Who Should Attend?
The Fundamentals Conference is open to the general public and is designed for individuals or teams from schools and communities that want to learn how to leverage community schools to organize and sustain meaningful partnerships around student success, strong families, and healthier neighborhoods. If you would like to discuss the composition of your team with us, please do not hesitate to contact us – ideally before you register.
There are limited slots available for the conference, so we encourage you to register immediately. Please note:
- What's included: Paid registration includes a Networking Reception on Tuesday evening, breakfast and lunch on Wednesday, breakfast on Thursday, and transportation to and from the school visit on Wednesday. (Please note: proof of vaccination is required to attend a school visit.)
- Group discount: If you are registering a group of four or more (which we encourage!), please be sure to select the "Team of 4+" option to receive a 5% discount
- Forms of payment: We accept credit cards, checks, and purchase orders; if paying by purchase order, they must be received by October 14, 2022.
- Processing fee: A 6% processing fee will be added by Eventleaf to the total cost of your registration.
- Cancellation policies: You may cancel your registration until October 7, 2022 (no refunds after this date).
Hotels
As you may know, hotel rates in New York City can be quite high, so we urge you to "shop around" and make your hotel reservations immediately. We are located in the Morningside Heights/Columbia University area of Manhattan, which is easily accessible by Subway or car.
