This virtual class is an introduction to the Slingerland Screening Procedures for students. These procedures help identify students with specific language disabilities. The tests aid in identifying children whose current language difficulties may continue beyond periods of development or maturational lag and become persistent specific language disabilities in later grades.
Classes will be held via Zoom at 4:00 to 8:30 pm (PT) on the following dates:
Participants must attend all sessions and submit the assigned projects to satisfactorily complete the class.
In this 12.5 hour class you will work with the four main elementary school screening levels. Specifically you will learn:

This 12.5 hour class is also approved for continuing education units through the University of San Diego. The credits are not part of a degree program and are at the option of the teacher/participant. Enrollment for USD credit will open June 1, 2021.
The Slingerland® Approach Short Classes focus on specific components of the comprehensive training. They provide practical tools for teachers, parents, or paraprofessionals who work with children who need a multisensory approach to learning. No practicum is included with the short class.
The Slingerland class dates/location list is always being updated so please continue to check the events page on our website to see the complete list of current classes (events page). All classes require a minimum of 8 participants. A class may be cancelled due to low enrollment.
