Program Overview
This Summit was recorded on September 26, 2024.
The 2024 Advanced Respiratory Disease and Lung Transplant Summit was recorded on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
The summit aims to provide a comprehensive platform for healthcare professionals, researchers, and specialists to discuss recent developments in the field of advanced lung diseases, including state-of-the-art therapies for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), the latest diagnostic and treatment approaches to interstitial lung disease (ILD), novel treatments for cystic fibrosis (CF) and non-CF bronchiectasis, and multi-modality management of pulmonary hypertension (PH). We will highlight the importance of multi-disciplinary care of these complex patients with multi-morbidities, including surgical and non-surgical techniques for evaluation and management of gastrointestinal reflux, advanced therapies for lung disease (ECMO, LVRS, BLVR, atrial septostomy, Potts shunt) and the key therapeutic role of lung transplantation. By highlighting the latest research and technological advancements, the program seeks to enhance understanding and collaboration within the medical community.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify appropriate indications for referral and evaluation for advanced therapies such as ECOM, LVRS, BLVR and lung transplantation among patients with advanced lung diseases.
- Understand evidence-based diagnostic approaches and interventions for the management of patients with advanced lung diseases, including ILD, COPD, CF and non-CF bronchiectasis, PH, and GER-related aspiration.
- Discuss the pharmacologic, surgical and other treatment options for patients with advanced lung diseases.
