Program Overview

Columbia hosts its Third Annual Cleft Lip and Palate Team Day for patients, families, and friends, allowing them to share their inspirational stories and experiences. The program features a children's lunch, a DJ, face painting, a photo booth, and many speakers to help children with cleft palate understand their condition and develop the resiliency needed to cope with it in the years ahead.

Learning Objectives

Identify ways to support speech development in children post-palate repair
Understand how speech sound acquisition prior to palate repair may differ from typical speech sound development
Discuss cleft palate impact on everyday life for children

Target Audience

This program is designed for the Children and families of the cleft lip and palate pediatric community.
