District 2 Homeland Security is excited to host the PER-222: Public Safety CBRNE Response Sampling Techniques and Guidelines course provided by LSU/NBCRT on February 23rd through 25th at the Jefferson City Fire Department (104 City Center Drive, Jefferson City, TN 37760) from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
This performance-level course is
designed to address specific fundamentals and skills associated with an
emergency response to a CBRNE/WMD incident. The course will provide technical
information while also including hands-on practice of actions required by
emergency responders if such an incident occurred.
One special interest of this course is how to collect forensically valid samples and use secure chain-of-custody techniques. This course will also address the necessity for teamwork through Incident Command and Area Command as provided by the National Incident Management System (NIMS). By doing so, this will prepare District 2’s first responders on how to perform critical technical sampling and surveying during a CBRNE/WMD incident.
This course is specifically aimed towards Law Enforcement, Fire, Hazardous Materials personnel, EMS, and Public Health officials who are responsible for responding to a CBRNE incident. To learn more about this course, please click here!
