Jason Spang will present on ethical and legal issues related to the practice of engineering.  He will cover engineer’s ethical obligations set forth in laws and codes governing the profession.  In addition, he will present on legal issues, including the standard of care, that govern the engineers services and work and provide examples of the risks engineers have at various stages of a project.  Finally, he will cover typical dispute resolution processes including mediation, arbitration and litigation.

Jason Spang, a licensed professional engineer who has held various roles in the construction industry, focuses his practice on construction-related matters, representing public and private clients in both domestic and international projects.

Jason represents clients in each phase of the construction process, including contract negotiation and formation, project counselling and dispute avoidance, and formal dispute resolution. His practice involves public and private construction and both domestic and international projects. Before receiving his law degree, Jason held various roles in the construction industry, working for a general contractor, a construction manager and for a consulting firm. He holds a professional engineering license in the State of New Jersey and is a U.S. Green Building Council LEED® Accredited Professional.
