NYSSPE has partnered with Klepper, Hahn & Hyatt a New York State Approved Provider

A structural engineer with a P.E. license or E.I.T. certification can perform some, if not all, of the duties of a Special Inspector on a project. We'll start with an overview of aspects of a code-compliant special inspection program. Then we’ll review the credentials and skills required for various types of inspections, and which inspections and tests an experienced P.E. or E.I.T. can and cannot perform, with training and experience. We will also identify some advantages and disadvantages to a project's Structural Engineer of Record performing the role of Special Inspector.
