Through a combination of lectures and case-based presentations, this course will deliver up-to-date and cutting-edge information that can be directly integrated into clinical practice.

Learning Objectives

-Identify effective methods for recognizing essential requirements and existing deficiencies in managing infectious diseases within hospital settings.

-Discuss the challenges associated with multidrug-resistant infections.

-Explore new antimicrobials and innovative strategies for effectively managing infections resistant to multiple drugs.

-Recognize the importance of preventing opportunistic infections, particularly in patients with compromised immune systems.

-Understand effective strategies for preventing and managing hospital-acquired infections, including CAUTI, CLABSI, and C. difficile.

-Target updates for hospitalists regarding the latest information and best practices in the diagnosis and management of HIV/AIDS in a hospital setting.
