For many auditors and managers, Covid caused a two-plus year step-back in our daily use of critical interpersonal and behavior ‘soft skills’. And those new to auditing during this time were denied the opportunity to build and master the ability to interact ‘in person’ and to obtain needed information, probe controls and compliance effectiveness, and influence management action where needed.

In this program, we’ll look at five critical soft skills used by every auditor every day. We’ll surface the gaps between expectations and abilities, and build steps to close those gaps. Participants will learn how to build confidently on their current skills. And we’ll explore how to recognize and destroy the inherent barriers to our behavior and communication effectiveness.

·         Recognize how to create an intentional presence – both in-person and on-line

·         Build effective business rapport in first-time meetings and recurring audit interactions

·         Identify effective interviewing and listening techniques

·         Explore how to speak and present effectively so that ideas ‘stick’

·         Understand how to ‘sell’ improvement ideas and influence management action where it’s needed

·         Recognize what’s needed in both in-person and on-line virtual interactions to ensure being heard and understood
