ICGFM Community of Practice in PFM
Invitation to Government Financial Managers, Students and Consultants
October 19, 2020

The COVID-19 pandemic has created global challenges this year for healthcare, the economy and governments beyond any we have ever faced. The International Consortium on Governmental Financial Management (ICGFM) is organizing two meetings to create a Community of Practice in PFM where PFM professionals, students and consultants can discuss and share insights in real time on what is working, and what is not, in the efforts to control the pandemic and restore battered economies.

Participation is free, but you must register on the ICGFM website, www.icgfm.org, and identify your language preference. [Breakout rooms will be available for discussion in the languages listed on the registration form, including: English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.] You will need a computer, tablet or smartphone connected to the internet. You should download the free Zoom app and the proposed discussion documents on the ICGFM web site ahead of time.

The regional breakout rooms [organized by language] will allow participants to work together and rapidly share ideas on policies and measures for mitigation and recovery. We are partnering with the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA), who will provide moderators for breakout rooms for Africa in English, French and Portuguese. Temi Rosas, a long-term contributor to ICGFM programs, has volunteered to moderate a breakout room for Latin America and the Caribbean. ICGFM members and friends from other regions are invited to volunteer to moderate discussion groups by contacting ICGFM President Lucie Phillips at president.icgfm@icgfm.org before 15 October 2020.
