56th Annual United Tribes Technical College International Powwow
September 11 - 13, 2026  ·  Lone Star Arena

The United Tribes Technical College International Powwow is held every year the weekend after Labor Day weekend in September. This is a contest powwow, where dancers and singers compete for prize money. Judges selected by the Head Dance Judges will evaluate a dancer’s performance based on knowledge and skill of their category; keeping time with the drum; and regalia. The UTTC International Powwow is one of the last large outdoor events on the northern Great Plains powwow circuit. For that reason, this annual event is known as the Home of the Champions.

This annual event, which has become one of the premier cultural events in North Dakota, will feature over 70 tribes, with more than 1,500 dancers and drummers participating. The Powwow will kick off with a grand entry procession, followed by dance competitions and hand drum contests, showcasing the talents of participants from various tribes. Attendees can also explore traditional arts and crafts markets, savor authentic Native American cuisine, and enjoy live music performances. While specific performers and vendors for 2026 have yet to be announced, past events have featured a diverse array of artists and food vendors, ensuring a memorable experience for all.

Preference will be given to Native Arts & Crafts vendors. To qualify, please email a copy of your Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB) or Tribal ID to jredtomahawk@uttc.edu.
All food vendors must possess a valid North Dakota Food License.
