The Europe Chapter of the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) Society is hosting the first international CPCU symposium in Singapore on February 5-6, 2021. Location and date are not a coincidence. We want to engage with the growing community of CPCUs across the Asia-Pacific region and we want to leverage the momentum generated by one of the largest InsurTech conferences taking place in Singapore during the same week. The symposium is open to all risk management enthusiasts, insurance nerds and RiskTech geeks.
Technology is pervasive and the pace of technological progress will go unabated despite potential setbacks in a near-future due to data privacy concerns. The role of insurers is expected to shift towards loss prevention. At the same time, cyber risk exposures within emerging and traditional risks will continue their inexorable ascension. (Re)insurance companies are struggling to develop products adapted to the economical, societal and technological tidal waves that characterize our times. To address this fast-evolving risk landscape, responsive innovative risk transfer solutions and efficiencies throughout the insurance value chain are essential. Major transformations are currently underway: no matter where you turn your head, analytics suites, multi-cloud platforms, ecosystems, blockchain, AI algorithms, machine learning and IoT are everywhere, very far from being fully operationalised and efficiently used though. The picture would not be complete without the specter of climate change hovering over our heads and the transition risk that will accompany Humanity's journey towards a vital state of sustainable equilibrium. Having set the stage, it is more than legitimate to ask the following questions:
How will the risk landscape of the future look like?
What will be the roles of brokers, insurance and reinsurance companies and how will they interplay efficiently to fulfill their protective function towards individuals, corporates and our communities?
The symposium provides a discussion platform around these topics. In particular, it provides a unique opportunity to confront the promises of RiskTech with on-the-ground experience of risk management and insurance professionals.
The agenda comprises
The above topics are the foundation for the event. We will continue to provide updates as the speakers are approved.
If you want to share your knowledge, get inspiration and learn from others, join us to imagine how to best cope with the risk landscape of the future!
"An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest."
The Europe Chapter of the CPCU Society is a non-profit organization. Our first and foremost concerns are providing our members with professional networking and continuous education. Our events are open to the broader risk management and (re)insurance community. They provide a shared platform for discussing hot topics and trends that will shape the risks of the future and impact our industry. The nature of this symposium is truly exceptional. The CPCU Society is one of the few global organizations with such a reach and an active network of dedicated and passionate (re)insurance professionals.
