Program Overview

The NewYork-Presbyterian Cardio-Oncology Summit program will provide a comprehensive overview of the latest developments in the rapidly emerging field of cardio-oncology. The program consists of 6 unique sessions that will address key questions in the management of cardiac disease in patients with cancer, as well as cancer survivors. NewYork-Presbyterian's Cardio-Oncology program has established new clinical pathways for Cardio-Oncology care from prevention of cardiac disease, to the management of long-term cardiac toxicities. Sessions will consist of case-based discussions, lectures and Q&A, presented by a multidisciplinary group of experts in the field of carido-oncology from NewYork-Presbyterian, as well as invited guest faculty. This year's focus session will be on long-term cardiovascular complications in cancer survivors.
Learning Objectives
- Identify long term cardiovascular complications of childhood and adolescent cancer survivors and current screening recommendations.
- Identify the spectrum of immunotherapy related cariotoxicities and learn the latest recommended diagnostic and treatment protocols.
- Understand the contemporary multimodality approach to management of breast cancer and potential cardiovascular toxicities.
- Understand the risks and benefits of advanced heart failure therapies in patients with active cancer and cancer survivors.
Target Audience
This activity is designed for primary care physicians, adult and pediatric cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, general surgeons, internists, oncologists, hematologists, radiation and surgical oncology, NPs, PAs, RNs, pharmacists, physical therapists and other medical professionals involved in the evaluation, diagnosis and/or management of patients related to cardio-oncology.
