FAQ

Am I too old or too young for this?

All ages are welcome, though, for anyone under the age of 18 we recommend they be accompanied by a guardian. Music is for everyone and you will find that there will be attendees of all ages.

What does my skill level need to be?

It is strongly recommended that you have a base level of guitar proficiency (1-2 years experience) to get the most out of this experience, however the only requirement is a love for music. We will try our best to match you with a group of similarly skilled musicians. Our main goal is that everyone, regardless of skill is able to have an incredible experience.

Are there COVID-19 safety precautions?

We ask that all of our guests be fully vaccinated.

Do I bring a guitar? Acoustic or electric?

You can bring either, we will have some extra electrics/acoustics around for jam sessions etc.

Do I need to bring an amp/pedalboard?

Amps will be provided as well as pedals for the jam sessions.

Can I stay somewhere besides the Hilton?

Yes, accommodations are not included in the price, the rooms at the Hilton are discounted at a group rate but you do not need to stay here.

What genre do I need to play?

The speakers will represent a wide range of musical genres, there will be something for everyone.

How much time do I get with the hosts?

Everyone will be broken down into small groups of 8-10 who will get a lesson with each of the 6 hosts. As well everyone will be together for the lectures and jam sessions and meals. The hosts will be playing in the jam sessions and Sammy G (who is writing this, so you can hold me to this) will make an effort to spend time with every attendee.

Do I need to audition?

Nope! All we ask is you select the skill that best suits your level (Beginner/Medium/Advanced) so you are with your peers. Ultimately this won’t have a huge impact on your experience, so don’t worry too much about it!

Is there a cancellation policy?

If you buy a ticket and need to cancel, there are certain fees and timelines associated with the cancellation. If you cancel  60 Days before the event, a cancellation fee of $400 will be deducted from your refund. If you cancel between 59-30 Days before the event a $500 cancellation fee will be deducted from your refund. If you cancel with 29 days or less from the event, a cancellation fee of $1000 will be deducted from your refund. Please contact info@samuraiguitarsummit.com for any questions or refund information.

Can I pay in payments?

Yes, we have the option to make payments in $500 increments. If you have any questions, reach out to info@samuraiguitarsummit.com.

Can I bring my spouse? Yes you sure can though the enrolment fee will only cover one of you for the summit. If they are not interested in music there is plenty to do in downtown San Diego where the hotel is located.

What if I have special requirements or further questions?

Please send an email to info@samuraiguitarsummit.com and we will be happy to help you.
