Program Overview
This webinar was recorded on May 2, 2024.
Menopause is a natural biological life event that all women and those assigned female at birth will experience. As this marks the end of the reproductive years, women and those assigned female at birth spend approximately one-third of their lives in the postmenopausal stage. Since the results from the Women’s Health Initiative
were published in 2002, the treatment of menopause plummeted. A generation of patients failed to receive proper menopause care as healthcare professionals
were not given formal training in menopause management. The lack of clear understanding
and dialogue has led to misinformation and an ill-informed stigma surrounding
menopause.
Racial and socioeconomic disparities in healthcare further complicate access to comprehensive care for patients in menopause. From bone health to heart disease prevention and beyond, this webinar will provide healthcare providers with insights and
strategies to treat patients in menopause through a health equity lens.
