Discover how historical artworks can serve as a launchpad for creative expression in this engaging, hands-on workshop.
How can art be used to develop student growth in literacy skills? In this session, we will use art from the North Carolina Museum of Art to practice strategies that build interpretive and expressive modes of literacy.
Participants will have a brief overview of the artist Louise Nevelson and learn about her found art assemblage. Participants will choose amongst monochromatic items to create a monochromatic art assemblage. Cap of 15
Research supports that physical activity increases comprehension, retention, and self-regulation. Incorporating movement into the classroom increases student engagement and decreases student disruptions.
Take a deep dive into the 2024 K-12 Visual Arts standards unpacking documents to understand how to design comprehensive lessons that address multiple grade level objectives in the four artistic processes of Connect, Create, Present, and Respond.

Sgraffito is an Italian word that means “to scratch” and is an artistic or decorative technique of scratching through a coating on a hard surface to reveal parts of another underlying coating which is in a contrasting color.

Are you bored with the same old weaving and fibers projects? Would you believe you can put those unused straws you collect from restaurants to good use?
Paid Workshop! The basic skills taught will be materials, using water as a vehicle to transport paint, how to control that movement, handling the brush, and how to mix pretty colors. I will break it into steps that I demonstrate, and they then follow.

February is Black History month and there are so many amazing ways you can celebrate in the art room! Are you curious how you can use different mediums/techniques across various grade levels?

Gourds have been used by people for as long as there have been people; humanity and this wonderful plant are intertwined. Among several ancient ways gourds were used are masks.
