This intense three (3) night training
seminar will prepare you for the one (1) day exam to become a Concrete
Construction Special Inspector.
In
accordance with the International Building Code (Chapter 17, Section 1705),
special inspections shall be required for concrete construction and other
building aspects that, in the opinion of the building official, requires full time
or periodic inspections and verification of construction materials and systems
to ensure conformance with applicable codes. In many juristications such
as New York City, most major projects require a certified special inspector to
conduct these inspections to support the Professional Engineer for the
site. The Concrete Construction Special Inspector certification provided
by the American Concrete Institute (ACI) is nation’s leading program for
providing this training and certification exam.
What Type of Certification Will I
Receive?
A
Concrete Construction Special Inspector is a person
qualified to inspect and record the results of concrete construction inspection
based on codes and job specifications. The program covers inspection during
preplacement, placement, and post-placement operations.
An Associate Concrete Construction Special Inspector is a
person who is knowledgeable about inspection procedures for concrete
construction, including preplacement, placement, and post-placement operations;
but does not have the experience required to qualify as an ACI Concrete
Construction Special Inspector.
Scope and Knowledge The programs require a knowledge of concrete construction,
including plans reading, formwork installation and removal, reinforcements,
embedments, sampling and testing freshly mixed concrete, conveying, placing,
consolidation, finishing, jointing curing, and protection. The technical
resource materials used in these programs include the following:

of major infrastructure projects around the world for major developments
including the following market sectors: Transportation, Oil&Gas, Mining,
Water/Wastewater, Federal Remediation, as well as commercial, industrial, and
private developers. Mr. Stoicescu will infuse the training program with lessons
learned from these projects to initiate discussions on interpretation of ACI
codes and review of engineering drawings. Mr. Stoicescu has examined 1000s of
