The Annual Spring Seminar is dedicated to Don Miklus, who passed away unexpectedly in February, 2008.  Don was the Finance Director for the Town of Westport, CT having joined the Town’s staff in 1966.  During his 42 year career with the Town, Don was highly regarded for his municipal finance abilities and was most proud of the Town’s Aaa bond rating.

 Don was a long time Executive Board member of the NESGFOA and served as the Association’s President in 1980-1981.

 Don was instrumental in establishing the annual training seminar for the NESGFOA.  He felt that the members of the Association would greatly benefit from a two day program that focused on key issues of public finance. 

 It is in this spirit that the Executive Board has named this seminar

  “The Donald J. Miklus Annual Training Seminar.”
