Abstract
This presentation explores 5 aspect of upstream activities in Thailand: 1) energy status 2) natural gas status 3) G1/61 mitigation plan 4) OCA updates 5) 24th bidding round updates. Energy status is a overview of energy consumption and supply. Natural gas status explains Thailand Gas Plan which focused on securing energy supply. G1/61 plan emphasizes on finding solutions to gas supply because of change of operatorship. Since Erawan is a major gas field in Thailand and imported LNG price is historically high level, it is a crucial for all stake holders to cooperate and to find solutions to resolve this problem as soon as possible. OCA updates is past activities and future plan to move forward. 24th bidding round updates is about 3 new exploration blocks in Gulf of Thailand and its timeline. DMF adds special exploration conditions about exploration well commitments which will be explained in this part.

Dr. Sarawut has over 20 years of experience in various energy sector. Since 2019, he is a Director General of Department of Mineral Fuels, DMF. Before DG position, Dr. Sarawut held various positions including Deputy Permanent Secretary, Deputy Director-General of DMF, and a Head of Strategy Planning Division of Bureau of policy and strategy under Office of the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Energy.
Dr. Sarawut has PhD in Chemical Engineering, University of Southern
California. He attended top level domestic and international training
courses such as Strategist Course, Strategic Studies Center, National Defense
Studies Institute and International Training Program on Utility Regulation and
Strategy by the World Bank and University of Florida. Dr. Sarawut is
often give public lectures at universities as well as be a regular guest
speaker in energy conferences
