19th Annual Harvard Cataract Course

Utilizing the latest surgical techniques and taught by leading experts in the field, the Harvard Medical School Intensive Cataract Surgery Training Course is an intensive, information-packed weekend that will provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to become a highly capable cataract surgeon. 

The Course will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 (in-person) and on Sunday, May 21, 2023 (virtual). This highly regarded weekend course is designed exclusively for second-year ophthalmology residents. 

At the completion of this Course, it is expected that the Residents will be able to:

  • Address preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative management issues in cataract surgery
  • Learn and practice the technical skills of cataract surgery
  • Recognize and address complications of cataract surgery
  • Understand Phaco-dynamic fundamentals, including fluidics and its impact on chamber stability, technology, instrumentation and lenses
  • Current and evolving technologies to optimize the phaco system and enhance ocular tissue protection

Participation in the wet labs, lectures, and meals is complimentary, however registration is required and fills up fast, so register early
