This presentation will explore maximizing the delivered efficiency of gas fired condensing boilers. Return water temperature plays a major part in this. The following topics will be discussed: Heat make-up of natural gas combustion and how it relates to condensing boilers and how this affects the delivered performance, How the return water temperature of the system affects the performance of a condensing boiler, and when approaching boiler control how outdoor reset can drive efficiency. In lowering return water temperature, how differential temperature, design temperature and piping arrangements affect overall performance.

Jon Gifford is a Commercial Sales Engineer with Viessmann Climate Solutions, covering the five boroughs of New York City, Nassau & Suffolk Counties, and the entire state of New Jersey.  Before joining Viessmann in May of 2023, Jon was with a couple of Manufacturer's Rep Firms in the NYC metro area, and prior to that he spent twelve years with Aerco International in their Engineering Department and then on their Strategic Accounts Team. Jon has spent his entire career, since college, in the Plumbing/HVACR world.
