The 2019 Critical Infrastructure Security Forum welcomes ICS users, vendors, system security providers, utility and government representatives that will discuss the latest cyber-incidents, analyze their causes and collaborate on solutions. The stakes of critical infrastructure protection and securing ICSs are becoming increasingly apparent. This year’s forum will focus on overcoming the Cyber Threats facing Local Government and Utility Districts by bringing together representatives from all facets of Public Sector Water & Wastewater, Transportation & Infrastructure communities. The forum will create an opportunity for idea sharing, collaborative strategy development, and the continued creation of a Community of Interest that will ultimately benefit the People of California.
The current industrial cyber security landscape presents a very diverse and chaotic picture of the threats facing industrial control system owners and operators. Attacks that impact physical processes are no longer limited to theory or speculation as we are now seeing incidents where malicious actors successfully intrude and cause system damage using ICS-tailored malware to affect operations. We need to be prepared to defend our control systems against increasingly sophisticated adversaries.
Practitioners and leading experts will come together to share ideas, methods, and techniques for defending control system environments. In-depth presentations and interactive panel discussions deliver real-world approaches that work and make a difference for the individuals fighting this fight every day.
Developing the content for this forum was driven by an Executive Council & Advisory Board that began meeting in early 2019 to identify the issues that are most pressing, as well as the areas of excellence that can be shared and leveraged.
