VIRTUAL CONFERENCE
A one-day program focusing on
how to integrate genetics into medical practice.

Learning Objectives
After attending this program you should be able to:
1. Recognize the major signs of a genetic disease and discern when a patient would benefit from genetic testing. Understand the role of clinical and familial information on clinical interpretation.
2. Define and explain inheritance modes (AD, AR, XL)
3. Describe the clinical utility of different genetic testing methodologies.
4. Recognize the major indications of the presence of a genetic disease (multiple family members affected, congenital anomalies, early onset, combination of disorders).
5. Explain how to navigate genetic test reports.
6. Discuss the growing literature and clinical databases enabling variant interpretation.
7. Describe how genetic testing is utilized in different areas of internal medicine and apply it to their own practice.

this activity. NCCPA accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from
organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society.
Nurse Practitioners
The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP)
recognizes the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education
(ACCME) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as approved
accreditors and allow reciprocity for AANPCP continuing education credit. Maximum of 3.75 hours.
American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) MOC Credit
Successful
completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the
evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 3.75 Medical
Knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's
(ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME
activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion
information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit. You
must request your certificate within 30 days of the activity to meet the
deadline for submission to PARS.
