On April 9-12, 2025, the Association of Bilingual Education New Mexico (NMABE) will host 50 Years of New Mexico Voices: Sustaining All Languages and Cultures for Generations-La Lucha Sigue!. This 3-day, in-person conference is tailored to New Mexico Educators, Administrators and community members and will explore how a focus on place, equity, and social justice can help to grow instructional practices, build communications and partnerships, and sustain program design for bilingual children, their families and communities.

Dr. Margarita Machado-Casas is a Full Professor in the SDSU Dual Language and English Learner Education Department. Dr. Machado-Casas is currently Vice President for the National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE).
