Orthopedic physical therapists frequently treat conditions influenced by pelvic floor function, even when it is not the primary complaint. This 2-hour lecture and lab introduces practical ways to integrate pelvic floor considerations into everyday orthopedic care. Participants will review the role of the pelvic floor within the lumbopelvic-hip complex, including its contribution to load transfer, pressure management, and movement coordination. The session will highlight common presentations such as low back, hip, and sacroiliac pain where pelvic floor dysfunction may be an underlying factor. Through a combination of lecture and hands-on lab, attendees will learn how to screen for pelvic floor involvement, perform external assessments, and apply movement-based interventions within an orthopedic scope of practice. Emphasis will be placed on clinical reasoning, patient communication, and identifying when referral to pelvic health specialists is appropriate. This course is designed to provide immediately applicable tools to help clinicians recognize and address pelvic floor contributions to musculoskeletal dysfunction in a confident, practical way.
