Tendinopathy is a general term used to describe pathology of tendons characterized by pain, impaired function, and structural changes of the tissue. Physical therapists are optimally positioned to diagnose, intervene, and improve the quality of life for patients living with tendinopathy. However, research shows that recovery from such conditions can take months to years for significant change; and sometimes complete recovery is not possible. This session will apply the latest evidence in orthopedic rehabilitation to explain why patient outcomes vary so much and how therapists can utilize a personalized medicine approach to optimize recovery.
