Excavation Readiness focuses on ensuring all utilities provide a timely, excavation-ready, positive response before excavation begins. This session helps excavators and utility operators improve on-time readiness by strengthening communication, reducing delays, and supporting safer work practices across the entire damage prevention network. We will explore the current state of Excavation Readiness in Oklahoma, including a deep dive into the data and the key improvement opportunities. Attendees will learn how OKIE811 is approaching excavation readiness and how to be a part of the solution. Utility operators will benefit from fewer unnecessary locate requests, reduced scope confusion, and less facility damages. Excavators will benefit from faster responses, fewer project delays, and clearer communication in the field. Attendees will learn how proper ticket planning, proactive communication, and shared responsibility across all parties lead to fewer damages and an improved state of excavation readiness.
