Guest Artists and Festival Guests
Focusing specifically on theatrical farce, the first half of the class will introduce participants to practical skills and techniques designed to demystify both the genre and the art of physical comedy. These skills and techniques will subsequently be applied to improvised scenarios. Although this an exploratory, 'on-your-feet' acting workshop, it will offer theatre artists from across the disciplines insight and avenues into approaching farce. Wear clothing appropriate for highly physical movement. Please bring dance or 'studio' shoes conducive for running. (Running shoes are perfectly fine as long as they are not tracking outside weather into the studio space). Notebook, pen or pencil are encouraged.
