Our orientation session will start with introductions and a brief overview of our schedule and how we will move through each devising session for the week, including alternative options for participation. We'll then begin ideating and creating!
The Devising project will consist of an orientation session (Wednesday), two scheduled full devising blocks (one on Thursday, one on Friday. 2 hrs. each), one tech rehearsal (Saturday 1 hr.), and a final presentation of work with response conversation (Saturday).
Each Devised Project session will culminate in a short piece. You have the option to build upon your work the next day or attend one session as a pop-in. For the pop-in, you will have an opportunity to sign up for a presentation slot on Saturday to show your work. Putting your work in front of an audience is an important step in the process of crafting a devised piece. It often is not the completion of a project, but the catalyst for re-writes and new drafts.
After the presentation, we will have a conversation about your work through process and practice with KCACTF respondents.
