What if we prioritized the actor's body before the written word, the lighting instrument, or the director's choices? Using outside-the-box prompts for physical gesture, participants will create a metaphor and story-evoking movement piece in 90 minutes. This work draws on techniques from Liz Lerman, Pig Iron Theatre Company, & Double Edge Theatre, and lends itself toward non-traditional new play generation, social justice, and transition creation.
