Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a ubiquitous companion: seldom a day, when we do not hear about how it will save us all, spell our doom, or anything in-between. This talk will cover the discipline’s origin in the search of truth, its definition that hinges on the ability to deceive, and illustrate how its reliance on computational power, logic, probability, as well as a plethora of background data changes the very notion of how we differentiate truth from lie and understand them both.
