Improving the health of West Virginia residents young and old is a vital need to ensuring future prosperity. Building capacity for growing and distributing healthy foods throughout the food system is a key component to improving health. Faculty from the WVU Extension Family Nutrition Program and partners have found a way to leverage support for health interventions that also includes simultaneous support for local farmers. This session will describe projects supported by the WV Family Nutrition Program to increase health and food access and ways that farmers can get involved.
