Ed Daniels and his wife, Carole, are forest farmers and operate Shady Grove Botanicals in Randolph County, WV. Ed’s presentation will give a brief overview of the different aspects of their forest farming operation, discuss the various types of agroforestry, and forest farming methods. Attendees will also learn about the different approaches in growing at-risk medicinal herbs, such as American ginseng, goldenseal, cohoshes, etc. Examples of crops that can be grown in the forest will also be highlighted. If time allows, a brief question and answer session will follow.
